I want to help you take your Service Portal designs to the next level.

About Sarah & Portalorem

I’m Sarah Toulson. Two years ago, I left freelance graphic design work behind to join the ServiceNow community as a Service Portal developer.

Armed with a designer’s eye and a rabid fear of JavaScript, I was excited to work with clients to build beautiful portals that made their jobs easier and their days just a little bit better. As a former local government employee, I saw (and still see!) the immense potential ServiceNow offers to state and local governments, and I wanted to help bring that possibility to life, for government employees and the citizens they serve. So I got impatient and built FastGov.

Portalorem is where I focus on design principles and techniques that will enhance Service Portal and the experiences we build on the Now Experience Framework moving forward. Our clients seek custom sites that reflect their brand and culture as well as support the functionality their users need. They want it to look good. They want their users to like it and use it. My goal is to help other developers grow comfortable with the design process and enable them to create beautiful user experiences on the ServiceNow platform.

Outside of ServiceNow

When I’m not serving my amazing clients with the teams at GlideFast and Pharicode, I am adding colorful commentary to CodeCreative’s live videos, chasing children, giving pets to a spoiled golden retriever, or tending to one of my many obsessions, including Dungeons & Dragons, video games, hand-lettering, and participating in my local chapter of AIGA.

I am a self-taught graphic designer and front-end developer, and have served my clients’ print and web needs for over eight years. I hold a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, and especially love assisting state and local governments in providing top-notch service and communication solutions to their citizens.
